Launched in 1977 to celebrate Vacheron Constantin’s 222nd anniversary, the 222 marked the brand’s entry into the world of luxury sports watches with integrated bracelets, a genre defined by bold geometry and technical elegance. Designed by Jörg Hysek, the 222 featured a monobloc case, porthole-style bezel, and a sleek integrated bracelet, sharing visual DNA with contemporaries like the Royal Oak and Nautilus. The midsize version, measuring 34mm, offered a more understated take on the sporty-luxe concept. Inside, the midsize 222 was powered by the ultra-thin automatic caliber 1124. This very version has been beautifully restored at Vacheron Constantin and has received a full service with service papers and an extract from the archives confirming the dial has been changed by Vacheron Constantin on request of the original owner. Former property of a famous german gentleman.
