The Patek Philippe Nautilus 3800/1 in steel and gold with a blue dial is a refined evolution of Gérald Genta’s legendary design. Introduced in 1981 as the midsize counterpart to the original 3700, the 3800 offers the same porthole, inspired case and integrated bracelet but in a more wearable 36mm format. Its horizontally embossed blue dial shifts in tone with the light, offering a rich backdrop for the applied gold markers and slender hands. Inside, the in-house automatic Calibre 335 SC provides date and central seconds, enhancing functionality while maintaining the ultra-thin profile that defines the Nautilus line. Balancing elegance and sportiness, the 3800/1 in steel and gold is a timeless expression of understated luxury, a vintage icon that continues to resonate with collectors and design enthusiasts. This very example is in well preserved condition with sharp edges to the case and a stiff bracelet with only light stretch. It’s accompanied by the extract of the archives.
