The Rolex Ref. 5100, known as the “Texano”, is one of the most historically important and visually striking watches ever produced by Rolex. Released in 1970, it was the brand’s very first quartz-powered model, equipped with the Beta 21 movement, developed jointly by a Swiss consortium of top manufacturers.
Housed in a bold, angular case with integrated bracelet, the Texano was made in extremely limited numbers and only in precious metals. This example, crafted from yellow gold, features the early and rare Single Logo clasp, adding further collector appeal.
The watch is in good condition overall, with a strong case and clean dial, showing only light signs of age. As one of the most significant and unusual watches in Rolex history, the Ref. 5100 stands as a true collector’s piece from the golden age of Swiss innovation.
Our archive collection consists of the most important watches we’ve had the pleasure to sell.
