The Patek Philippe Ref. 5140R stands as evolution of one of the most iconic perpetual calendar wristwatches ever made. Introduced in 2006, the 5140R succeeded the legendary Ref. 3940, a model that played a pivotal role in modern Patek Philippe history. Launched in 1985, the 3940 was a bold statement during a time when mechanical watchmaking was under pressure by the quartz crisis.
Building on this heritage, the Ref. 5140R carries forward the same revered movement, the ultra-thin self-winding Caliber 240, with its signature micro-rotor and precise perpetual calendar mechanism.
This very example is in excellent, new old stock condition with some of the factory stickers still in tact. The hallmarks on the inside of the lugs are of course extremely sharp and the bevels of the case as well as caseback show the sharp, original lines cleary.
Our archive collection consists of the most important watches we’ve had the pleasure to sell.
