The reference 2960 Cartier Santos “or massif”, french for massive gold, is what I consider to be one of the most impressive watches of the last century. Not only because of the rich heritage, being a successor to the first ever commissioned mens watch, or the many celebrities of the 1980s who were seen wearing one, but also because of the perfect design which, like only very few other watches, managed to combine french elegance with modern industrial design ideas. This very example also appears to be one of the best example I’ve seen yet. The bracelet has the very pronounciated brushing which usually looses it’s strong character after only a short time of being worn. The screws are perfectly shiny and have never been repolished, such as the rest of the watch which seems to have never seen even a cleaning cloth! The dial has no spiderwebs/cracks and is pure, perfect white. It will be delivered with the original “or massif” box.
