Produced in the late 1980s as an official state gift of the United Arab Emirates, this example was presented to an Austrian minister during a state visit, one of a series of such gifts bestowed upon important dignitaries visiting the UAE during that era. Following the minister’s passing, the watch was inherited by his son, from whom it was subsequently acquired and is now offered for sale for the first time. The brushed silver dial bears the original pre-2008 UAE state emblem, a detail of profound historical significance that distinguishes this example from any standard production piece and places it firmly in the category of diplomatic artefact. The watch presents in good overall condition with light surface scratches consistent with age, and remains unpolished throughout.
