This is a very rare first series example of the A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Big Date “Großdatum”, reference 102.002, featuring the early and elegant 34mm case in 18k yellow gold. It is powered by the handwound caliber L911.3 movement and displays the iconic big date at 12 o’clock. As a first series piece, it features the rare closed caseback, found only on the earliest Saxonias. With a serial number in the 1160X range, this is among the very first hundred watches produced by Lange after the brand’s rebirth in 1994. A historically significant and highly collectible reference in exceptional condition.
